Why I Don’t List Fixed Rates

Because every project varies not only in scope, but also in required effort and expertise, listing fixed rates would not be practical. How Rates Are Determined

I typically quote on a per-word basis to ensure the pricing aligns with the scope of the work. Several factors influence the pricing of each project. Here are the main criteria that affect my rates:

• Word Count & Volume – Larger projects generally require more time, effort and planning than small tasks, resulting in a higher overall price.

• Text Complexity & Subject Matter – Highly technical or specialized content (such as legal texts) typically requires more time and expertise, leading to a higher per-word rate.

• Turnaround Time – Urgent projects usually incur a rush fee for expedited work.

• Revision – If a revision of the initial translation is requested, this will require additional time and the involvement of a second linguist to perform the revision, resulting in a higher fee.

Each of these factors will be carefully considered when preparing your personalized quote.
